Raised in Toronto and having spent a number of years in Calgary, I came to Victoria in 2002 sold on the quality of our West Coast climate and lifestyle. Raising children and having had the opportunity to build my own custom home in the Uplands neighbourhood of Oak Bay, I know what is important to family living. The West Coast experience that’s often talked about is so tangible in the Capital Region. Having lived in the Peninsula these past few years has elevated this existence because of the beautiful environment around us…from the shops and cafes of Sidney, the lushness of our farm community to the spectacular waterfront’s of North Saanich.
My passion for the industry began in my early 20’s, working for a real estate office in Ontario. I was able to get a sense of the industry at an early age. I enjoyed the fact that the people I worked for were creating tangible, positive changes in the lives of their client’s. This is something I pride myself on; this sector is all about people and helping them take the next step in their life. I have had the opportunity to work with my clients as their needs have evolved over time. We’ve grown together and I have been able to use my own life experiences to empathize with their situations. I understand the emotions involved with the decisions surrounding buying and selling property and the impact this has on the people making them. The focus on people, and recognizing that each client has an individualized need has been a key component to my success. My philosophy is to value the person over the property, I truly believe in providing a personalized level of service. Investing into the relationship is important if you’re sincere about helping someone.
One of the most important aspects of my approach is to manage clients’ expectations relative to the current market, clearly communicating what is realistic is vital, it prevents frustration and disappointment and ultimately provides a better experience. Having honest conversations builds trust especially with the significance of real estate transactions. I have built my reputation on this approach and have been fortunate enough to have a very high rate of repeat business and referrals because of it.
